A street crew repairing Ernest’s street woke us up today. This is notable as he has been waiting 6 years for them to start.

Emmanuel Cobbinah took Rick and I to the “Tema Main Market for Foodstuffs”. This was an eye opening (then closing) experience.

The market was very busy, full of people and things to buy. There were all manner of fruits and vegetables. Things I had never seen. The fish area was something. There were fresh fish being cleaned, smoked fish, fried fish and live crabs and other things. The odor was memorable.

Next we went to the meat area. If fish being cleaned curls your toes, then you may want to stay out of this area. There were many kinds of animals in various stages of preparation. There was a lot of chopping going on. Sort of like a Bruce Lee movie, but with meat bad guys!

Live fowl! This area had a distinct smell, emphasis on “stinct”! Mostly there were chickens which were also in various stages of preparation – some alive – others not so much.

Finally we were taken through the flower or wheat and spice areas. Then out to the street. Enough was enough.

Brethren have started showing up to see us off. I was able to help Quansah, monetarily, with some extra funds to be used towards his new home. Owusu, Quansah and others went with us to the airport to drop us off.

Boarding went very smoothly. We were airborne for London after hugs all around. I will miss these great brethren!
